Denny Mather '72 has been involved with Towson University for so long he cannot even remember how it started, exactly. Decades ago, he joined the Alumni Board of Directors. That grew into memberships on four more TU boards over time.

"I think I appreciate Towson more today than when I was here as a student," Mather says. Being involved with so many TU boards provided Mather with the full scope of why philanthropy is key to the success and advancement of Towson University.

Mather and his wife Cindi have been donors to Towson University for the past sixteen years. A gift in their estate plan was the natural next step. Their planned gift supports both the Robert L. Ehrlich Scholarship and the Athletics Department. The Mathers established the Robert L. Ehrlich Scholarship in 2005 to provide scholarships to student athletes with financial need. The Mathers are passionate about Towson University's athletics department and have a strong desire to help student athletes achieve success in the classroom as well as competition.

Mather reflects, "I feel part of the Towson community. I know these people. I respect them. I'm very proud of Towson trying to do things the right way. As long as Towson continues to be run the way it has been run over the years, I'm going to be a supporter."
