Sherri Fox

Sherri Fox ’65

Sherri Fox lived a life of adventure for 94 years. Now, through her legacy, she will give eager learners the opportunity to pursue their own adventures at Towson University.

Sherri left home at 17 and joined the Women’s Army Corps in January 1945. She served in World War II as a surgical technician, providing medical attention to wounded soldiers. She was awarded the World War II Victory medal and The Good Conduct medal.

After military service, Sherri attended then Towson State Teacher’s College receiving her bachelor’s degree in education. In 1975, she received a master’s in communication science from Governors State University in Illinois.

Over the years, her passport showed her love for travel to Japan, New Zealand, Turkey, Australia, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Kenya, Jordan, Hong Kong, Russia, Vietnam, China and Latvia.

Sherri lived in over 12 cities, from New York to Phoenix and Seattle to Boca Raton. She loved the theater and owned and operated theatrical coffee houses in New York and Chicago in the ’70s and ’80s.

During her life, Sherri established two charitable gift annuities with Towson University. She also left a gift to support COFAC College of Fine Arts and Communication for student scholarships.

Towson University is grateful for the generous alumni and friends, like Sherri, who have remembered TU in their estate plans.
